Design Project 3 - Track and Field

Our hearing is a precious gift that should not be taken for granted. However, with the use of personal music devices, concerts, and other such activities, hearing loss has become a global issue that is currently affecting roughly 500 million people. With an estimated 1.1 billion of the population at risk of developing a hearing loss, it is extremely important that some form of preventative device be made. Hearing aid devices have also become expensive and challenges affordability for middle and low-class citizens. A preventative device would be the most ideal method to tackle such a widescale problem. With the use of some device that could detect hearing loss before it occurs could save the hearing of millions of users; ensuring a healthier future. This is exactly what my group decided to do. With the use of sensors and other electronic hardware, we designed and fabricated a device to measure sound levels in the environment; the Reverb. The objective of DP-3 was to create a wearble device using sensors to overcome an issue or promote better health.
